From MEDITHERAPY, a South Korean skincare brand known for clinically-inspired formulations at accessible price points. The Squalane Skin Booster Moisturizer is built around three high-concentration active layers: 8% plant-derived Squalane for barrier support and oil-moisture balance, 3% Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) for visible skin conditioning and soothing, and 8 distinct types of Hyaluronic Acid targeting hydration at every depth of the skin's surface. No parabens, no silicones, no sulfates, no harsh alcohols. Lightweight, non-greasy, and suitable for all skin types including sensitive and oily skin. 150mL with pump dispenser.
Most moisturizers use a single form of Sodium Hyaluronate. The issue is that different molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid function at different depths of the skin's surface. High molecular weight forms sit on the surface and act as a humectant, drawing moisture from the environment into the skin's outermost layer. Low molecular weight and crosslinked forms penetrate deeper into the skin's surface layers. Hydrolyzed forms have the smallest molecular size and reach the deepest layers accessible to topical ingredients. Using all 8 forms together means the moisturizer is working at every accessible layer simultaneously rather than just on the skin's surface.
Squalane is a saturated, stable version of Squalene, a lipid that occurs naturally in human sebum. As we age, our skin produces less Squalene, which contributes to visible dryness and a compromised moisture barrier. Topical Squalane closely mimics the skin's own oils, which makes it exceptionally well tolerated even by oily and acne-prone skin. At 8%, the concentration in this moisturizer is meaningfully higher than what is found in most mass-market formulas. The plant-derived source (typically from sugarcane or olive) is the standard used in K-Beauty formulations and is vegan-compatible.
Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) converts to Pantothenic Acid on contact with the skin and is one of the most widely used ingredients in sensitive skin formulations. At 3%, this is a functional concentration rather than a token inclusion. Panthenol helps the skin appear visibly smoother and more conditioned, and is particularly useful as a visible soothing agent for skin that is dry, irritated, or recovering from active ingredient use such as retinoids or exfoliants. Pairing Squalane with Panthenol makes this moisturizer a strong complementary product to the MEDITHERAPY Retinal Serum.
This moisturizer is designed as a final hydration step after serum. If you are using the MEDITHERAPY Retinal Skin Booster Serum, apply the serum first, wait for it to absorb, then apply this moisturizer. The Squalane and Panthenol help support the appearance of the skin barrier after retinoid use, reducing visible dryness and redness that can accompany a new retinoid routine. For those not using a retinoid, it works as a standalone daily moisturizer for morning and evening use.

01
Is this suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?
Yes. Squalane is non-comedogenic and closely mimics the skin's own sebum, which makes it exceptionally well tolerated by oily and acne-prone skin. The lightweight gel-cream texture absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. The formula is also free from parabens, silicones, sulfates, and harsh alcohols, all of which can be problematic for acne-prone skin.
02
What makes this different from a standard moisturizer?
Most moisturizers use a single form of Hyaluronic Acid at a low concentration, with Squalane as a minor ingredient. This formula uses 8% Squalane as a primary active, 3% Panthenol as a secondary active, and 8 distinct molecular weight forms of Hyaluronic Acid targeting hydration at multiple depths. The ingredient list is clean with no parabens, silicones, or sulfates. The price-to-concentration ratio is strong compared to most comparable Western formulas.
03
Can I use this with the MEDITHERAPY Retinal Serum?
Yes, and it is designed to complement it. Apply the Retinal Serum first, allow it to absorb, then apply this moisturizer as the final step. The Squalane and Panthenol in the moisturizer help support the appearance of the skin barrier after retinoid use, which can reduce visible dryness and redness, particularly in the early weeks of a new retinoid routine.
04
Is the Squalane plant-derived?
Yes. MEDITHERAPY uses plant-derived Squalane, typically sourced from sugarcane or olive. Plant-derived Squalane is the standard in K-Beauty formulations and is vegan-compatible, unlike older shark liver-derived Squalene used in some legacy formulas.
05
How does the 8-type Hyaluronic Acid system work?
Different molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid function at different depths of the skin's surface. High molecular weight forms hydrate and protect the outermost skin surface. Low molecular weight and crosslinked forms penetrate deeper. Hydrolyzed forms reach the deepest accessible layers. Using all 8 types simultaneously means the formula is delivering hydration at every accessible layer rather than just the surface, which results in a more thorough and longer-lasting visible plumping effect.

Can I use this morning and evening?
Yes. Unlike the Retinal Serum which is primarily for evening use, this moisturizer is suitable for both morning and evening. In the morning, it can be layered under SPF. In the evening, it is the final step after any serums or treatments.
